Thank you for this eloquently written critical review on Frank O’Hara’s poem. I believe you have effectively outlined the motives of the Beats poets, as they attempted to demonstrate how all art should be considered art.

I particularly the lines, “In fact, one can even go so far as to say that the poem is a celebration of art in all its forms. Frank O’Hara creates his art with words while his friend, Mike Goldberg, does so with paint and visual imagery. Each is different but, O’Hara seems to be saying, both are valid expressions of the creative mind.” Throughout your analysis of language and similarities between a poet and a painter, the reader (myself) has a clear understanding of O’Hara’s poem. 

I also agree that O’Hara concerned himself with creative expression and I like how you have used numerous examples to support this.
