I love this poem that you have beautifully written. I believe it mirrors Whitman’s style of free-verse writing that tells a story that is hidden in nature.
I became totally immersed within your poem and found myself checking my breathing when I was instructed too! I like the way you have sectioned your poem as a reflection of what nature has done, is doing and will continue to do. I also admire you ability to reference outer space – I thought it was very creative and worked well in getting my mind to travel from the present moment into future possibilities beyond my immediate sight.
My favourite line is, “And decide to withdraw from rationality- to be immersed in a fantasy.” I was amazed at how you encapsulated such a big concept of attempting to get out of your own body/state of mind in a few succinct words. I never thought twice about how this as a decision before – well done!
Thank you for your poem Angelina, it has made me want to go outside immerse myself in the beauty of nature and ponder on the abilities of blades of grass.
