I thoroughly enjoyed reading your first blog entry, it helped me understand aspects of the lecture and introduction to 19th century literature. I admire your ability to personalise your blog, bringing your own interpretation and experiences to articulate the difference between the Romantics and us within the 21st Century.

I particularly like the lines, “Despite my throwaway line, the Romantics and their obsession with the portrayal of innocence was a vital idea in my personal opinion. It began the recognition of children as a separate entity, leading the way for child laws & the mentality that children & their innocence should be protected, especially if their family are the ones refusing to maintain this”

As a reader, you have cemented the themes of Romantics writing style securely in my head, making it easy to understand their way of life and reasons for writing the way in which they did. Your word choice and eloquence in which you have encapsulated the themes is admirable.

I agree with aspects of what you have presented in your blog about the Romantic era, especially when you related them to a documentary. I too believe that the world has been fogged with a Romantic way in which we should view life, death, childhood, innocence…. which made me reflect on whether I am living too much like a Romantic.

Furthermore, your blog layout is very cool! Its different and I was attracted to the colours and different style front, I am now more eager to learn how I can make my blogs stand out.
